About IndieLedger

A no-fluff finance journal for solo founders, freelancers, and side hustlers — written by people doing the work.

What we cover

IndieLedger is a focused publication on personal finance for independent operators. The four pillars: banking (where to keep your money), taxes (how not to be surprised), pricing (how to charge enough), and runway (how to stay in the game long enough to win).

Who writes here

The editorial team is a small group of working freelancers and solo founders. We write about money decisions we have actually made, with the trade-offs we actually faced. Nobody on staff is a tax attorney or a registered investment adviser, and nothing on this site is legal, tax, or financial advice. It is one operator's perspective, useful for thinking through your own situation.

How we stay independent

  • No paid placements in articles. If a tool appears in a comparison, it earned its place.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed at the bottom of any article that contains them.
  • We never accept compensation in exchange for changing a recommendation.
  • Sponsored content, when it appears, is labeled Sponsored in the headline.

How to get in touch

Tips, corrections, story pitches, and reader questions are all welcome. Use the contact page or send an email directly. Reader questions sometimes turn into full articles — submit one and you might see your situation tackled in a future piece.

Editorial corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it visibly. Correction notes appear at the top of any article we materially update, with the date of the change. Tax law in particular changes — we do our best to keep articles current, but if you are about to make a big move based on something we wrote, double-check with the relevant authority.
